With havin so much content do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright
violation? My blog has a lot of exclusive content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it seems a
lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my
authorization. Do you know any ways to help protect against content from being ripped off?
I’d really appreciate it.
Hi CBD – most of our content is written by members or we obtain copyright permissions for reprinting.
There are things you can do to minimize plagiarism and unauthorized distribution.
A water mark, restricted downloads with password and publish an image instead of text or even publish text but lock out the copy paste function for the file.
Alternatively, you can attempt to enforce after the fact with cease and desist or contact the hosting company of the offending website and request cease and desist.
However, in our case – and as we want to disseminate the information as widely as possible – we are typically of the mind that copy cats are the highest form of compliment.
Additionally, we certainly grant reprint rights to anyone that requests for a favor in the future or reciprocal marketing alliance.
